School libraries

Why are they seeking volunteers to get the school libraries ready for the school year? How many school dept. employees are there? Hundreds! Most make a pretty nice salary and have an incredible amount of time off. How about we bring them in for a week if there is a library to organize? I appreciate the job they do but take offense to the thought of having to volunteer my summer  to do what they should be doing.
