Will the Saunders Park be open for play on Wed., July 2nd ??? I was planning a mother's group meet up and I thought it was closing July 7th, not June 30th !!!!

I don't know anyone involved but sometimes a fresh look is a good thing. After 8 years perhaps it was time for a new perspective.

Less to do with perspective, more to do with experience in this case.

Kids play in Funway Park, correct. Kids are out of school during the summer, correct. Why does the work have to be scheduled for the middle of summer? I have seen complete remodels, and installations, of playgrounds in Medford and Somerville done during the beginning of spring or in the fall. Not during peak use time by the kids.

@Tony D- I think the reason is that the park is a safety issue and they needed to close it down either way. There are some parts that are in tough shape and not safe.

T2001 - If it is a safety issue it did not happen overnight. Wood does not rot overnight. I have a wooden swing set that is 22 years old. Not a sign of rot. Being a safety issue is just an excuse for not scheduling the work while the kids were in school earlier this spring.
