Find out what's happening in Tewksburywith free, real-time updates from Patch.

The Girls faced Littleton today and both teams played equally.  First time goalie Morgan Lindsey played 1st half and did great while 2nd half Riley Veits played goalie and made tremendous saves.  Mia Eloi, Victoria Catanzano, Bianca Disisto, and Gianna Diminico played fantastic defense shutting the other team down while the attack wings and middies Alanna Charron, Ashley Demers, Kiley McFadden, Makayla Melanson, Maeve Cahill (scoring 4), Liana Nelson, Kati Polimieno (scoring 2), Samantha Taber, and Tierney Trant played exceptionally well together catching the ball and passing to score.

Girls GU13

The 2014 Girls U13 Lacrosse Team started the season in dramatic fashion dropping 6 goals without even having a full field practice.  The scoring started with Madi Itri firing one past the Tyngsboro Goalie on a great pass from Brianna Iandoli.  The 2nd goal of the game was scored by Morgan Woodman on some great team passing of Ashlyn Bisso and Riann Savoia.  Tyngsboro fought back and got a few great opportunities but Alex Fowler was a wall in net.  Tewksbury’s 3rd goal was scored by Kristina Johnson from Haley Spinale and Abby O’keefe.  The 4th goal scored by Ally Indingaro with assists going to Erin Sands and Lydia Pendleton.  At the half came a goaltending change and Erin Mcintyre took over the job proving to be another problem for the Tyngsboro offense.  The Middie defensive tandem of Shannon Crowley and Eryn Taber came to play as they shut down most of the fast breaks their opponent could attempt.  Keeping the Tyngsboro girls away from our net was no easy task, fortunately for us our defenders, Halily Poirier, Makenna Rosberg, Jad Owirka, Izzy Alfano, and Susanna Darrigo all were up for the task along with the impressive play of our defensive MVP Molly O’Neill.  The scoring was finished up with Kristina and Morgan each getting their 2nd goals fo the game with Riann Savoia picking up 2 more assists.

The girls 2nd game of the season was a little harder as they faced a well-oiled Littleton Machine!  Susanna Darrigo and Megan Boudreau combined for the goaltending duties making 26 saves between them.  Olivia DeLonais and Madi Itri each poured in 2 goals with assists going to Madi Sjostedt, Eryn Tabor, Ally Indingaro, and Megan Boudreau.  Also scoring for the girls were Ally Indingaro, Julia Garland, and Shannon Crowley with assists going to Erin Carter and Erin McIntyre.  Defensive MVP of the game honors go to Ally Indingaro for tenacious work on both ends of the field leading the team in ground ball recoveries.

Boys BU11

It looked like it was going to be a long game for BU11 when visiting Arlington got 2 quick goals including one within seconds of the game’s first whistle.  However, they settled in and went on to hand the visiting squad a tough loss, finishing the game at 12 – 4.  Contributions came from up and down the roster with a hat trick each for Jake Murphy and Cole Stone, and two goals each for Daniel Fleming, Daniel Kierce, and Caden Connors.  Daedon Bere and Ryan Fleming shared time in the crease, each coming up with huge saves to maintain BU11’s lead.  The team showed great awareness, moving the ball around the offensive end, creating great opportunities for their teammates.  Austin Tingtella and Sean Hirtle brought a great energy and presence to each shift they played, keeping Arlington off balance.  Everyone moved around and showed their versatility at all 3 field positions with Tim Panilaitis and James Kierce bringing extra energy to the defensive end while Jonah Bennett and Tyler Leeds contributed on the offensive end to keep possessions alive.  This was a great first game for this young talented team.

Boys BU13 Blue

U13 Blue treated the home crowd to a hard fought 6-5 victory Sunday against Waltham.  Tewksbury ended the 1st quarter down 3-1 but recovered nicely with a 3-0 2nd and did not fall behind for the remainder of the game.  Goaltending by Andrew Farrell and Riley Auth with their defenders including Lucas Tryder and Gavin Thomasset kept Waltham in check despite a number of man-down situations later in the game.  Quick ball movement by the attack squad including Dan Lee and Jake Kaiser supported goals by Will McKay (2), Evan Mantel, Patrick Rosemond, Sean Fahey and Kameron Neault to give Tewksbury the edge in the end.  Tewksbury Blue is now 2-0 on the season.

Boys BU13 A

The U13 “A” Boys faced Nashoba again on Sunday and played an impressive game with ten different players scoring at least one goal during the game to lead them to a 12 – 3 victory.  Goals came from Shane Aylward, Aiden Doherty, Hunter DeLonais, Brodie Tirrell, Kyle Braciska, Nicky Iannacci, Anthony DiMinico, Michael Dell’Orfano with 2, Colby Brown, and Kyle Scrooc with 2.  The Middi’s had a great day with Faceoffs winning eight on the day and the offense showed great ball movement and produced nine assists for the twelve goals led by Shane Aylward with four on the day.  The best story of the game didn’t come from the scoring but the aggressive defense the boys put on during the game.  The swarming defensive attack was led by Player of the Game Sean Sears and supporting defensemen Matt Rosemond, Patrick Letourneau, Owen Gilligan and Asa DeRoche.  Goalie Ryan Day had another impressive day in net shutting down the offensive shots all afternoon.   The team is now 2-0 for the season and will face Waltham at home on Sunday April 27th at 12:00 PM.

Boys BU15 Red

Tewksbury Boys Lacrosse U15B – Red dominated their first game of the season with a 9 to 2 win over Arlington.  This was a great way for the Redmen to begin their season.  The defense lead by Captains    Andrew Zampitella (goalie) and Blake Hiltz (anchor defensemen) along with other defenders Matthew Andrea, Ryan Smith, and Matthew Wagner shut down their competition for the first 3 quarters of the game.  They also did a tremendous job of clearing the ball throughout the game.  Midfielders Richard Colarusso, Joshua Rosado, Connor Doherty, and Evan Crowley fought to win a majority of the face-offs.  While the rest of the middies helped to gain control of the ball and transition it up the field throughout the game while demonstrating strong defensive skills on the other side of the ball.  The offense dominated in time of possession and goals with their strong stick handling skills and team effort.  The boys spread the glory with attackmen Michael Andrea, Mitchell Andrea, Samuel Fortier, Derek Schumaker, and Dylan Scott and midfielders Connor Doherty, and Drew Fletcher each scoring a goal – while midfielder Braden Hiltz managed to find the back of the net twice to score 2 goals.  9 goals were scored by 8 boys showing the depth on this team and their precision in execution of goals and assists.  Drew Fletcher demonstrated a text book dodge in the 4th quarter that left the Arlington defenseman wondering where he went.  This was Tewksbury U15B Red’s first game of the season and they are 1 and 0.  Their next game is home against Dracut – U15B Navy on Sunday April 27 at 4:30 PM.

Boys BU15 Blue

Tewksbury U15 Blue had a great season opener today with decisive 16-2 victory against Waltham.

The Blue had a quick up tempo start and kept the intensity throughout the game.  Pat Hunt and Mike Arsenault both had exceptional days in goal keeping Waltham to only two scores.  Defense was fierce in keeping Waltham to extremely low numbers of shots on goal. Joe White (D) using his blazing speed cleared the ball several times to Waltham's side with even took a long pole shot on goal.  On offense, in the early minutes of the game John Spinelli (Mid fielder) made over a 40 yard pass and assist to Robert Casey (Attack) for a highlight worthy goal.  The offense was balanced with ten different players scoring comprised of half the goal scorers Mid Fielders (M) and half Attack (A).  Both Trace Trant(A) and Robert Casey(A) had hat tricks. The other goal scorers were comprised of Jamsie Cash (M), Justin Petti(A), Josh Shugrue(M), Mike Arsenault(M), Shane Darrigo(M), Jarod Gillis(A), Logan Singleton(A), and Brendon Sjosted(M).  The Blue's teamwork and unified effort on all aspects of the game resulted in a great victory and season start.
