B&E, Upset Mom And A Domestic Assault That Wasn't

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

On Monday, Dec. 26, at roughly 6 p.m., Tewksbury Police received a 911 call regarding a hit and run accident in the parking lot at the on Route 133.

The caller told police that one vehicle had struck another and then left the area in the direction of the Hess Station.

A short time later, the registered owner of the car that had left called Tewksbury Police to report the accident. She said she had not been driving the vehicle at the time of the accident but that her 21-year-old son and his 16-year-old girlfriend had been in the vehicle. An officer told the woman she would need to come to and fill out an accident report.

A domestic assault that wasn't

On Friday, Dec. 23, just after 1 a.m., police received a 911 call from a man who reported that his girlfriend was hitting him while they were in bed. The man reported his location as being at a home on Munro Circle.

While police were on their way to that address, the man called back and said that he was not at that address, but that he and his girlfriend were at his girlfriend's house on Colonial Drive. Officers went to the Colonial Drive address and found no one there, so they went back to the original address on Munro Circle.

At Munro Circle, the officers found and spoke to both the man and his girlfriend. The final determination was that there had been no assault and that it had been a misunderstanding.

Sturdy door stymies burglar

On Monday, Dec. 26, around 8:20 a.m., police received a call that there had been an attempted break-in at one of the stores located in the strip mall at 2285 Main St. Officers responding to the scene noted that there was damage to the lock and to the door, but that the would-be thief had not managed to enter the building.

Vehicle break-ins

On Monday, Dec. 26, just after noon, police received a call from a Bailey Road resident, reporting that three vehicles had been broken into at that address overnight.

On Saturday, Dec. 24, a Maple Street resident called police to report that several cars had been broken into overnight at that address.

Arrests

Justin A Sharifi, 23, 46 Sheridan Lane, was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 24 and charged with possession of a Class C substance.

Patrrick Sugrue, 22, 18 Judique Road, was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 24, and was charged with distributing a Class C substance.

Idrissa Kamara, 55, 15 Claire St., Lowell, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 23, and was charged with OUI-liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Lawrence Perry, 59, 1531 New State Road, Apt. 492, New Milford, PA, was arrested at the Motel 6 on Friday, Dec. 23 on a warrant for being a fugitive from justice.
