Billerica Man Arrested for Second Offense Operating Under the Influence

Wednesday, May 14

  • At 4:47 p.m. police were called to Motel 6 with several suspicious people. An officer called for an ambulance for a person suffering an anxiety attack.
  • At 10:15 p.m. a 911 caller on Salem Road reported that she heard two gunshots. Police checked the area but found nothing showing.
  • At 6:17 a.m. officers were sent to Room 237 at Motel 6 to serve a warrant to a male party. Police arrested Paul R. Dias, 44, of 17 Brookview Drive on outstanding warrants for operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

  • At 2:06 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle on Whipple Road for speed and marked lanes violation. Police arrested Brandon Michael McCarthy, 25, of 21 George Brown Street, Billerica. McCarthy was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and speeding.
  • At 4:20 a.m. officers were sent to Applebee’s to check on an intoxicated man at the bar. Police returned with one person in protective custody.
  • At 6:07 p.m. a 911 caller at Breakaway Ice Center reported a man down. One person was transported to Saints Medical Center.
