UPDATED: Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation at Tewksbury Wal-Mart

No credible threat was found and store reopened at 12:40 p.m.

Updated Monday at 1:59 p.m.: In addition to Tewksbury Police and Tewksbury firefighters, members of the Massachusetts State Police bomb squad were also on the scene Monday morning.

Bomb sniffing dogs were brought into the store, and the scene was cleared after about two hours.

Police could not comment on what was said during the phone call that sparked the evacuation, but added that the incident remains under investigation.

Original Story: Tewksbury Wal-Mart was evacuated on Monday morning following a bomb threat at the store.

Police say their investigation found no credible threat and the store reopened to customers at 12:40 p.m.

According to WCVB, Fire Chief Michael Hazel said the threat was received via telephone and police were interviewing the person who fielded it.
