Tewksbury Man Facing Assault and Battery, Other Charges

A Tewksbury man is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting an acquaintance over the weekend.

Erik Nickerson, 28, of 101 McLaren Road, was arrested Sunday afternoon at his home.

, the incident began around 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 with a call from a Tewksbury resident. The woman said she had come home to find her daughter crying. According to the woman, the daughter said that Nickerson had assaulted her.

Multiple units responded to the scene and one unit went to Nickerson at his home. After an investigation, Nickerson was arrested. He is charged with assault and battery, assault, two counts of intimidating a witness, two counts of threatening to commit a crime and malicious destruction of property under $250.

Car stolen and wrecked, or ...

A Sharon Street man called police just before 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 to report that his car had been stolen overnight. He explained that the car was in his driveway, but that it must have been stolen and returned because it was, according to the report, "all smashed up." He provided police with all of the information about the vehicle.

Based on the description of the vehicle and the license plate number provided, a police officer told the man that his vehicle was under investigation for an accident that had taken place overnight. He also said the man might want to have a chat with his son before reporting the car stolen.

Who let the dogs out

A resident of Mitchell G Drive called police around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 to report three suspicious people walking on their road. The caller said the people claimed to be looking for a dog, but that it appeared they were looking at homes. Police responded to the scene and spoke to the individuals, who told them they were actually looking for two dogs that had gotten loose. Officers were satisfied they were telling the truth.

Meanwhile, at 7:12 p.m., police received a call from an individual report that they saw two dogs, running loose and unattended, at the Saunders Recreation Complex on Livingston Street. It is not known if they are the same two dogs being looked for previously.

Arrests:

Bermalize Barrios, 27, 11 Conlon Terace, Apt. 1, Lowell, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 18 and charged with shoplifting by concealment.

Nancy A. Hurley, 42, 11 Kingston St., Billerica, was arrested on Monday, Oct. 17 and was charged with OUI-liquor and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Harry White, 17 Tewksbury St., 1st Floor, Lawrence, was arrested on Oct. 17 on a warrant.

Other incidents:

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 10:30 a.m., a representative from Property Management at 100 Ames Hill Drive called police to report that two of their manhole covers had been stolen.

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 5:22 a.m., a 96-year-old man was reported missing from the Emeritus assisted living facility. He was later located by searchers on Maplewood Avenue.
