A Claire Street man faces multiple charges in connection to an altercation with his brother early Sunday morning.
Police were called to 6 Claire St. at 2:11 a.m. following a report a man had been assaulted by his brother at that address. Police responded to the scene and, following a brief investigation, arrested Dan Boyle, 21, of that same address. Boyle is charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct.

Just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, a woman walked into the lobby of the Police Station with a large, black Australian Cattle Dog. She said she had found the dog on Trull Road. Animal Control was contacted. However, the woman agreed to keep the dog, at least overnight, until the dog's rightful owners could be found.

Just after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, a male caller reported to police that he had caught his daughter in a compromising position with a man in a vacant home next door. Both parties had then left the vacant house and ran off into the woods. Police responded to the scene, but were unable to find the couple.
Boys unable to go fishing in peace
A woman came into the police station Sunday evening to report that her son and a friend had been assaulted while fishing at Long Pond near the intersection of Whipple and Pleasant. According to the woman, a couple of youths had been throwing rocks at the boys and shooting at them with BB guns. No injuries were reported and a report of the incident was filed.
Break-in discovery leads to arrest
Monday at around 3:15 a.m., police received a call reporting a suspected break-in at the Dunkin' Donuts located at 1699 Shawsheen St. Officers responded to the scene and discovered that the back door was pried open. Detectives were called to the scene and following an investigation, police arrested 23-year-old Samantha Marie Picanso of 1 Avenue B in Lowell. Picanso was not, however charged with the burglary. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The investigation into the burglary is continuing.
Speeding stop leads to OUI arrest
At around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Edward Dicicco, 33, of Lowell, was stopped for speeding on Woburn Street near the Lowell town line. After a brief investigation, DiCicco was arrested and charged with OUI-liquor.
