Domestic Assault, Phone Scam Top Latest Police Log

and an ambulance crew responded to a home on McLaren Road on April 5 after dispatch received a call regarding a domestic assault with injuries.

Fortunately, the injuries were less severe than originally thought and the victim refused transport to the hospital.

However, Erik Nickerson, 29, 101 McLaren Road, was arrested and charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Arrests:

Justin Mercer, 31, 9B Sharon St., Tewksbury, was arrested on April 5 on a warrant.

Alvin Anderson, 33, 82 Ash St., Nashua, NH, was arrested on April 3 on a warrant.

David Rodriguez, 41, 31 West 6th St., Lowell, was arrested on April 3 on a warrant.

Albert Iraola, 34, 295 Dutton St. Apt. 1C, Lowell, was arrested on April 2 on a warrant.

Emmanuel T. McCall, 28, 19 Jewett St., Lowell, was arrested on April 2 on a warrant.

Other incidents:

On April 3, a woman called police to report that she had just been approached with what she believed was a phone scam. She said someone had just called her house and said he was her grandson and that he needed money. She responded that she didn't have a grandson and hung up the phone before calling police.

On April 5, at around 3:15 p.m., police responded to the Green Mango, 2171 Main St., for a report that a group of young people were harassing the owner. Officers spoke to the group of young people, who had been playing behind the building, and sent them on their way.

On April 4, at around 6:45 a.m., multiple 911 calls reported a two-car accident at the intersection of Shawsheen and Main streets. One person was transported to Saints Medical Center for treatment.

On April 3 at around 10:30 a.m., a caller reported an attempted break-in at Officers responded to the scene and a report was filed.

On April 3, at around 11:20 a.m., a caller reported seeing several hypodermic needles off the road near the intersection of Livingston and Brentwood. Officers responded to the scene and took possession of five hypodermic needles.
