Domestic Disturbances Lead To Two Assault Arrests

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A pair of domestic disturbances this week resulted in the arrests of two men on assault and battery charges.

On Tuesday, July 17, a woman called 911 at 12:42 a.m. to report that she had just been hit by her "ex" and that he was trying to take things out of her house that didn't belong to him.

responded to the scene and found the man outside the home. After a brief investigation, Vito Lomagno, 57, of 7 James Road, Methuen, was placed under arrest and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

On Monday, July 16, an employee at called police to report a domestic disturbance in progress. The employee said a woman was screaming at a man to leave. The man then smashed a window and left on foot.

Three officers responded to the hotel and, after a brief investigation, tracked down the suspect at the . Victor Alfonso, 21, of 1910 Andover St., Tewksbury, was arrested and charged with assault and battery and wanton destruction of property in excess of $250.

In need of a sign ... quite a few actually (July 17)

At 9:39 a.m., Jack Pratt of the asked for a log entry for several missing street signs in town. Missing signs included Ginsburg Drive, Geddes Drive, Secor Way, Kevin Street, David Morris Drive, Champion Street, William G. Drive, Forrest Avenue, Greenwood Avenue, Highland Avenue, James Street, Kernwood Avenue and Jodi Drive.

Arrests:

James M. Martin, 37, 31 Grasshopper Lane, Tewksbury, was arrested on July 17 and charged with OUI-Liquor (2nd offense).

Additional Incidents:

On Wednesday, July 18, a man called police just before 7 a.m. and reported that recently, someone had placed condiments on the roof of his car and that he had just noticed a large dent on the roof, as well. A report was filed.

On Tuesday, July 17, a Quail Run resident called police regarding a possible domestic disturbance going on at a neighbor's house. Officers responded to the scene and spoke to all parties involved. A report was filed.

On Tuesday, July 17, an accident took place at the intersection of Pine Street and Whipple Road, in which a car struck a 12-year-old child. The child was taken by ambulance to Saints Medical Center in Lowell with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. No citations were issued.

On Monday, July 16, a Kernwood Avenue resident called police at 7:52 p.m. to report that someone had broken into their car. The caller said the car had been left unlocked and nothing had been taken. A report was filed.
