Foot Pursuit Nabs Andover B&E Suspect

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Once again, an out-of-town criminal made the mistake of trying to hide out in Tewksbury.

On Monday, just before 2 a.m.,  at the intersection of Maple and Martha because it matched the description of one wanted in connection with a vehicle break-in in Andover.

According to the police report, once the suspect stopped the car, he fled on foot and headed into the woods in the direction of East Street. K-9 support was requested and a State Police K9 unit responded to the scene.

An alert motorist flagged down an officer and said he had just spotted a man dressed in dark clothing emerging from the railroad tracks onto East Street. A short time later, the man was spotted near 939 East St. and was placed under arrest.

Richard Joyce-Vorce, 20, 166 Glendale Road, Amherst, was charged with failure to stop for the police, receiving stolen property in excess of $250 and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Reading duo busted for drug possession (Jan. 13)

On Friday, a Citgo employee called police to report two men loitering in his store who appeared to be either drunk or on drugs. He reported that the men then left in a gray pickup truck with a broken back window and other damage.

Officers responded to the scene and located the truck and the men across the street at A Westford drug K9 unit was called the scene for assistance. Michael F. Dunn, 30, 25 Milton Road, Reading and Brian M. Jordan, 37, 339 Harvest Road, Reading were both arrested and each was charged with Possession of a class A substance.

Additional incidents:

The bad weather early Tuesday (Jan. 17) resulted in a handful of accidents. One of those accidents involved a police cruiser getting rear-ended. There were no injuries reported.

Arrests:

Joshua Sheehan, 34, 63 Fletcher St. Apt. 3B, Lowell, was arrested on Jan. 16 and charged with distribution of a class B substance (subsequent offense), drug violation near a park or school, an outstanding warrant and conspiring to violate drug laws.

Robert Kyle, 45, 4 Pinewood Road, Tewksbury, was arrested on Jan. 16 and charged with assault and battery.

Daniel Willette, 28, 107 Pleasant St., North Andover, was arrested on Jan. 14 on an outstanding warrant.

Joseph Roux, 32, 1066 Main St., Apt. A, Tewksbury, was arrested on Nov. 14 and charged with assault and battery and violating a restraining order.
