Former Andover Officer Indicted for Alleged OUI Crash in Tewksbury

Evan Robitaille allegedly hit a truck in Tewksbury then fled the scene.

A former Andover police officer was indicted this week after he was charged in an crash last year in Tewksbury when he was allegedly operating under the influence.

On March 11, 2013, Evan Robitaille, 33, allegedly struck a truck on Route 495 in Tewksbury then fled the scene, according to the Eagle-Tribune. He was off duty at the time.

Before the incident, Robitaille was named a "Police Officer by the Year" in 2012.

An indictment means a grand jury has determined a trial is warranted based on evidence in the case.
