Former Employee Allegedly Breaks Into Business and Steals Cash

The man's alleged accomplice in the incident has not yet been located.

A Lowell man was arrested this week on charges that he broke into his former employer's business and stole $150 in cash.

Tewksbury Police said that on Saturday at 7:10 a.m., officers were called to Center Mobile on Main Street for a report that someone had broken into the business after it closed the previous evening.

The business' manager said someone had broken in and stolen $150 in cash, and investigators were told the crime had likely been committed by a former employee who had access to codes and keys to the building.

After investigating further, Tewksbury Police located video surveillance that showed to men making illegal entry to Center Mobile at 1:32 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Employees of the business identified one of the men as Steven Corbin, 28, of 19 3rd Ave., Apt. 2F, Lowell. He was arrested at his home without incident and transported to Tewksbury for booking.

Corbin was charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, larceny from a building, and malicious or wanton destruction of property.

The Lowell resident was arraigned on Monday morning on the charges, though his alleged accomplice has not yet been identified.
