Former Tewksbury Recreation Business Manager to Pay $51K in Restitution

Former Tewksbury Recreation business manager Lauren Bibo Morris will pay $14,556 in restitution from her retirement fund, according to the Lowell Sun.

Former Tewksbury Recreation business manager Lauren Bibo Morris agreed to pay the town $51,942 for money stolen from the Recreation Department in 2009 and 2010, according to a report from the Lowell Sun

Ex-Recreation Department Director Roy Patterson admitted to larceny under $250 and conflict of interest resulting from improperly hiring and paying his son, according to the Sun.

According to a defense attorney, Morris will pay $14,556 from her retirement fund as well as $300 per month for the next three years in restitution, according to Sun.

While this only amounts to a fraction of the amount owed, a review of the restitution has been set for Nov. 6, 2014, according to the Sun.

Morris admitted in 2010 she had taken the center's money to fund an Oxycontin addiction, according to the Sun.

Patterson was sentenced to three years probation, and if he has no other legal trouble his case will be dismissed at the end of that three years, according to the Sun.
