Man Allegedly Breaks Into Home, Assaults Police Officer

The following is an excerpt from the Tewksbury Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 11:18 a.m. officers were called to check on a report of an open door. Another unit stopped a suspicious male walking home on Marston Street. The man was found to have an outstanding warrant, and the home in question had been broken into. John P. Mucci, 33, of 114 Delmont Ave. Apt. 33, Lowell, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering daytime for felony, larceny over $250, willful and malicious destruction, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer and an outstanding warrant.

Also on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 10:08 p.m. officers arrived at Motel 6 to serve a warrant. Khristina Nieves, 23, of 18 Second Street #A, Lowell, was arrested on a warrant from obtaining drugs by fraud.

On Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 1:44 a.m. a caller reported that he was driving behind a motor vehicle when it went off the road near the DPW yard on Whipple Road.No injuries were reported, but police arrested a Wilmington resident on a variety of charges. Renae Grace Brown, 28, of 3333 Evergreen Drive, Wilmington, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, possession of Class C drugs, two counts, and four counts of possession of Class E drugs.

Tuesday, Feb. 11

Wednesday, Feb. 12

  • At 4:26 p.m. a woman walked in to request an officer speak to her mother, who attempted to take the reporting party’s daughter.
  • At 6:41 p.m. a 911 caller reported that a deer was struck by a truck in front of Livingston Street Park, and it was still alive. Officers responded, but the animal was gone on arrival.
  • At 9:36 p.m. a Heritage Drive resident told police that when she arrived home she found that the property had been broken into. 

Thursday, Feb. 13

  • At 5:44 a.m. police noticed the door was open at Market Basket on Main Street. Officers secured the building. The door was not latched, causing it to open.
