Man Arrested On OUI Charge Previously Indicted On Vehicular Homicide Charge

Anthony J. Manfredi, who was indicted on Aug. 14, 2011 of the fatal pedestrian collision that resulted in the death of Burlington resident Daniel Jalbert was arrested for DUI while out on bail.

Just after 5:31 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, an employee of the Pushcart restaurant in Tewksbury called police to . The employee said the man drove away on a blue moped.

Two Tewksbury Police units responded to the scene and pulled over the moped, driven by Anthony J. Manfredi, 49, listed in the police logs as now living at 213 Elizabeth Drive, Dracut. Patch was told by family that Manfredi does not live at that address but gave it to police.

After an investigation, Manfredi was arrested and charged with OUI liquor (2nd offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle after his license was suspended for drunk driving and operating a motor vehicle after his license had been revoked.

Manfredi was arrested last year in connection to the Aug. 14, 2011 motor vehicle accident that claimed the life of Burlington resident Daniel Jalbert.  on Jan. 26, 2011 on charges of charges of felony motor vehicle homicide and operating under the influence of liquor, second offense.

During the arraignment in January, Judge Tobin Harvey ordered Manfredi held on $5,000 cash bail with the conditions that if he posts bail he is ordered not to drive during the pendency of the case, ordered to refrain from the use of alcohol and subject to random screenings, and ordered to have no contract with the witnesses in the case.

According to Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone, following the fatal accident in Burlington last year, Manfredi allegedly blew a 0.26 in a Breathalyzer test, over three times the legal limit.

Yeah but in Mass, you always see people with third, fourth and even fifth OUI/DUI offences, what does it even matter?
