Man Chases After Alleged Gas Station Wallet Thief

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A man reported that he was parked at Petroil Gas Station on Monday, May 20, at 7:25 p.m. and a man came by on a bike and stole his wallet off the car.

He then chased the suspect up the street but lost him. Later in the night, the man returned to the area and found his license but there was no wallet or bike.

Officers received a call from a trooper who reported seeing someone matching the description asking for money near the 495 onramp. He is known to stay behind the Motel 6 near the tracks with his girlfriend.

Though officers were unable to locate the man in question, they did receive further description and a suspect’s name.

Cars stopped a vehicle for speeding and operating with no headlights on Wednesday, May 22, at 9:34 p.m.

Matthew J. Rud, 43, of 68 Parker Street, Acton, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and motor vehicle lights violation.

Additional Incidents:

On Monday, May 20, at 11:04 a.m. a marked unit was requested at the high school. A juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct.

On Tuesday, May 21, at 11:55 a.m. a 911 call came in from CVS reporting a man who asked to buy syringes and was continuously going in and out of the bathroom. He then left in a silver vehicle in an unknown direction.

On Tuesday, May 21, at 8:05 p.m. a man came to the station to turn himself in on a warrant and speak to an officer regarding an earlier domestic incident that he was involved in. Robert R. DeLisle, 24, of 22 Beacon Village Apartment 22E, Burlington, was arrested and charged on an outstanding warrant and domestic assault and battery.

On Thursday, May 23, at 12:09 p.m. police stopped a vehicle on East Street at Carter Street. Michael A. Hurst, 27, of 18 Towpath Drive, Wilmington, and Eric A. DiDomenico, 25, of 12 Shady Lane, Wilmington, were each charged with larceny greater than $250 and receiving stolen property greater than $250.
