Man Chases After Alleged Gas Station Wallet Thief

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A man reported that he was parked at Petroil Gas Station on Monday, May 20, at 7:25 p.m. and a man came by on a bike and stole his wallet off the car.

He then chased the suspect up the street but lost him. Later in the night, the man returned to the area and found his license but there was no wallet or bike.

Officers received a call from a trooper who reported seeing someone matching the description asking for money near the 495 onramp. He is known to stay behind the Motel 6 near the tracks with his girlfriend.

Though officers were unable to locate the man in question, they did receive further description and a suspect’s name.
