Man Seriously Injured In Fall From Roof

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 49-year-old Burlington man was seriously injured, Thursday morning, when he fell from a roof, striking his head on the concrete pavement.

The man, whose name was not released by Fire Department officials, was doing work on the roof at 95 Evergreen Road just before noon, when he fell approximately eight feet,

, the man sustained traumatic injuries to his head and legs. He was transported by ambulance to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, as LifeFlight was not flying at the time. Hazel said the man underwent surgery for his injuries, although he was not sure if that surgery took place at Lahey or at another medical facility.

The man's condition following surgery and his prognosis was not immediately available.

According to the police report, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was sent to the scene to investigate the accident. It was unclear if the man was working for a company or independently.

Break-ins reported on Boisvert Road (Oct. 19-20)

Back-to-back break-ins, possibly both occurring during daytime hours, were reported on Boisvert Road this week. On Wednesday, Police received a call around 9 a.m. from a resident at 7 Bosivert Road, reporting that they believed their house had been broken into.

On Thursday, just before 2:30 p.m., a resident at 10 Boisvert Road, reported that they believed their home had just been broken into. Police immediately responded to the scene, along with a K-9 unit from Billerica. No arrests were reported.

Arrests:

Stefan Berg, 25, 6 Kimberly Road, Tewksbury, was arrested on Oct. 20 and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Matthew J. Chronowski, 27, 32 C St. Dracut, was arrested on Oct. 19 on a warrant.

Brian Patrick McDeveitt, 26, 19 LeClair St. North Reading, was arrested on Oct. 21 and charged with OUI-liquor, failure to stop at a stop light and having an open container of alcohol in a car.

Cano X. Urbina, 25, 232 East Haverhill St., 2nd Floor, Lawrence, was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a license plate violation.
