One Man's Grease Is A Thief's ... Gold?

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

There have been some odd things stolen in Tewksbury in recent years but this might top the list.

On Tuesday, Jan. 22, at around 11:23 a.m.,, a man walked into Police Headquarters and reported that T.J. Callahan's Pub had been the victim of a robbery.

According to the man, someone had broken some locks at the pub and had stolen ... old grease.

Officer Arthur Piccolo talked to the man and a report on the theft was filed.

James Robert Tambone, 21, 31 Debra Drive, Tewksbury, was arrested on Jan. 22 and charged with domestic assault and battery.

Brian Bohanan, 48, 434 Main St., Unit 232, Tewksbury, was arrested on Jan. 22 on a warrant.

Additional incidents:

On Jan. 23, at 12:"30 p.m., a 911 call reported a robbery at knifepoint at the Motel 6. Six units plus the K9 unit were dispatched to the scene. A description of the suspect's vehicle was provided by a witness and a BOLO was put out. The suspect was not immediately located.

On Jan. 22 at 8:02 a.m., a caller reported a break-in at his home on Kent Street. The caller said it took place about 20 minutes previous. Officers responded to the scene and conducted a full investigation. Officer Piccolo reported it turned out that the caller's neighbor had stopped by the house and picked up the caller's son to take him to school.

On Jan. 22 at 6:43 a.m., a Cinnamon Circle resident reported that gold and jewelry had been stolen from her house.
