Pedestrian Injured When Struck By Car On Main Street

A female pedestrian was injured Tuesday night when struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Route 38 in the vicinity of the

, the accident took place around 8:15 p.m. The pedestrian, whom police described as being a female in her 40s, was wearing dark clothing, which made it difficult to be seen. She was also crossing in an area where there is no crosswalk.

The vehicle involved in the accident was driven by a female, who stopped immediately after striking the pedestrian. While the cause the accident remains under investigation, no citations have been issued.

According to police, the woman who was struck was taken to Lahey Clinic in Burlington for treatment of significant but non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident shut down Route 38 for about 45 minutes.

Arrests:

Daniel E. Cawley, 23, 25 Mount Joy Road, Tewksbury, was arrested on Aug. 29 on a warrant.

Bernadette McKay, 50, 14 Lakeview Ave. #B1, Lynn, was arrested on Aug. 29 on a warrant.

John D. Gallinaro, 49, 14 Lake St., Billerica, was arrested on Aug. 28, on a warrant.
