Update: Pedestrian Suffers Fatal Injuries in Main Street Crash

The crash occurred at around 6 a.m. near 940 Main St.


Update 6:08 p.m.- The 42-year-old woman hit by a car on Main Street Tuesday morning died at a Boston hospital from injuries sustained in the accident, according to Tewksbury Police. 

At approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the area of 940 Main St. for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

Officers located the victim, a 42-year-old female, lying in the northbound lane of Main Street with serious injuries.

The victim received immediate medical attention, and was subsequently transported by MedFlight to a Boston area hospital where she died due to her injuries.

The male driver of the single motor vehicle involved did not exhibit any apparent injuries. Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction and Crime Scene Services were summoned to the scene of the accident.

This accident is currently under investigation. Tewksbury Police request that anyone with information involving the above incident to please call 978-851-7355.
