Police Log: An Arrest For Driving With a Revoked License

The following is an excerpt from the Tewksbury Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Wednesday, Jan. 22

12:41 p.m. A caller reported an elderly male in the Andover St. area hitchhiking. The caller stated he was concerned for the man with the extreme cold weather. The responding officer checked the area but did not locate the individual. 

2:28 p.m. A caller at Super Petroleum, 1049 Main St., reported someone drove off without paying for $48 in gas. The caller believed it to be a black car with Virigina plates. An officer responded to speak with the caller.

8:32 p.m.  An officer reported a vehicle at Walmart, 333 Main St., was showing a warrant for a revoked registration. Mary C. Hobal, 1 West St.. Wilmington, was arrested on a warrant for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

8:29 a.m. Police reported a male prisoner broke the sprinkler head in his cell, flooding the cells. The Fire Department was notified and a report was filed. 

9:35 a.m. A Poland Avenue resident came into the station to request assistance with a neighbor who is riding a snowmobile on her property. An officer was sent to speak with the parties involved, and also instructed the reporting person to get a no trespass notice if the behavior continues.
