Police Log: An Assault and Battery Arrest, Ding-Dong-Ditchers and More

The following is an excerpt from the Tewksbury Police Department log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Friday, Oct. 4

6:48 a.m. - A resident of Andover Street reported their car had money taken from it while parked in the driveway overnight. The caller stated someone at the residence believes they heard a car door shut at around 5:30 a.m. A report was filed at the police station later.

5:47 p.m. A caller at 4 Champion Street reported she was checking the home of her recently deceased father and found the rear door pried open with marks on the door and frame. Officers filed a report.

6:29 p.m. A Wellington Circle resident reported a group of kids playing ding dong ditch headed down Farwood Road toward Whipple Road. The kids were gone when an officer checked the area. This caller later called back ay 7:49 p.m. and reported kids were playing ding dong ditch again. The responding officer reported the kids were gone upon arrival. 

8:19 p.m. Police received a call from 207 Merrimack Meadows Lane reporting a domestic incident with her daughter. Amanda N. Bari, 207 Merrimack Meadows Lane, Tewksbury, was arrested for domestic assault and battery and violation of an abuse prevention order.

11:05 p.m. An officer located a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Wal-Mart 333 Main St. The officer reported the ignition was popped and the vehicle had a flat tire. The vehicle was towed. 

Saturday, Oct. 5

1:28 a.m. After a vehicle stop at 1375 Andover St. for defective equipment, officers arrested Elido Cordero, 16 Granite Street, Metheun, for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a lights violation. 

6:55 a.m. A caller at 40 Redgate Road reported a water main break at that location. The responding officer confirmed the water main break and DPW was contacted.

10:29 p.m. - A caller reported someone was setting off fireworks at 280 Rogers St. at 209 Pike St., and requested an officer speak with the individual.
