Police Log: GPS Theft and Reported Gun Shots

The following information is provided by the Tewksbury Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Sunday, Sept. 1

10:21 p.m.- Tewksbury Police received a call from Wilmington Police concerning a call from a Jacquith Road resident reporting his sister attempted to hit him with the car she was driving. The caller reported he moved out of the way and his sister struck two parked cars in their driveway. She drove off on Jacquith Road toward Shawsheen Avenue and was believed to be heading to Tewksbury. 

Valerie R Belding, 19, of 36 Jacquith Road in Wilmington, was arrested by Wilmington Police and charged with assault and battery with dangerous weapon, two counts of assault with a  dangerous weapon and two counts of destruction of property of more than $250.

Monday, Sept. 2

5:18 p.m.- Police received a call from a patron at Wal Mart reporting an individual in the parking lot intentionally hit her vehicle with his shopping cart.

7:09 p.m.- An individual reported his GPS was taken from his vehicle overnight or early this morning at 50 Greenwood Ave. 

10:51 p.m.- A male came into the Tewksbury Police Department to report he was walking with a friend when a Honda Accord pulled over and asked him if he knew where 495 is. The male reported that when he gave the directions the driver punched him in the face.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

4:46 a.m.- A caller at 1350 Main Street Apt. 303 reported she heard two gun shots coming from outside. Responding officers checked the area and did not find anything.

5:04 a.m.- An officer reported being in the T.J. Callahan's parking lot with a suspicious male. Jamiel D. Covington, of 15 Baystate Ave. in Tewksbury, was arrested on a warrant for operation of suspended license.

4:28 p.m.- A female came into the Tewksbury Police Department to report she bought $58.01 worth of gas at Super Petroleum at 1049 Main St. when she realized her credit card had expired. The male clerk wanted her license because he was going to call the police. The customer said she would go to her home in Andover to get her new dated card and come back to pay for the gas.

The customer told police she was "overwhelmed with the actions the clerk was displaying."

The store owner was unable to be contacted, but police confirmed the woman went back to pay for the gas.

6:44 p.m.- A caller at 120 Navillus Road  reported his car was broken into overnight. The responding officer reported the car was unlocked.  A report was filed.

8:06 p.m.- A caller on Secor Way reported she thought she heard gunshots at 4 a.m. and would like the area behind her house checked. The responding officer reported he spoke with the caller, checked the area and found nothing. 

Wednesday, Sept. 4

12:10 a.m.- Tewksbury Police received a call reporting an erratic driver in the area of the Tewksbury State Hospital with two males possibly intoxicated. Wilmington Police, Billerica Police and State Police were notified of the vehicle info. The vehicle was gone on arrival.
