Police Log: Mysterious Yells and Snow Issues

The following information was supplied by the Wilmington Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Wednesday, January 16 to Thursday, January 17.

Wednesday, January 16

3:14 a.m.: Police pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of Middlesex Ave. and Colonial Drive. Bevis Agabu, 29, of 11 Bartley Street, Apt. C103, Wakefield, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor.

5:41 a.m.: The Superintendent of Schools was updated on road conditions. Police were notified that school will go on as scheduled.

6:34 a.m.: Bus #5 needs was stuck in the snow with two pupils on board on Treasure Hill Road. The Department of Public Works was notified and brougth sand.

7:14 a.m.: Officers received a call for a crash with a vehicle that slid into a pole. There were no injuries, but the vehicle was on the train tracks so the MBTA was notified and responded.

1:07 p.m.: A walk-in party wanted it logged that he found a screw in his order at a Main Street business. The business did refund his money.

3:21 p.m.: Near the intersection of Concord Street and Woburn Street, a DPW driver reported that a pick up truck went around the sander truck and then slid off the roadway, knocking down the street signs for both streets.

Thursday, January 17

12:26 a.m.: A Boston man was summonsed for violation an abuse prevention order on Avalon Drive.

10:26 a.m.: Police received a request for an ambulance at Ristuccia Arena on Main Street. CPR was in progress by the detail officer on scene after a fan collapsed in the stands during Bruins practice. The man was transported to Winchester Hospital.

3:06 p.m.: A Brand Ave. caller reported that he was assaulted by a female.

10:18 p.m.: Residents on Marie Drive reported hearing a female yelling for help and possibly a vehicle leaving the area. Officers did not see anything at the time they checked.

10:45 p.m.: Officers were out with a party on foot on Church Street. The party was brought back to the lobby to call for a ride.

10:50 p.m.: A second caller, this one from Gunderson Road, reported hearing a scream and a vehicle, possibly a dark colored Mustang, in the area. Police spoke with another resident who reported hearing yelling and saw two vehicles leave the area.
