Police Log: Two Assault and Battery Arrests, A Water Main Break and More

The following information is provided by the Tewksbury Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Friday, Sept. 13

2:23 a.m.- Police received report that a tree was down on Livingston Street, blocking the road. Responding officers reported the tree was completely blocking the road. Department of Public Works was notified and removed the tree.

9:34 a.m.-A caller at Motel 6 reported her boyfriend had just choked her. The female individual was transported to Saints Medical Center. Anthony John Bertos, of 64 East Street, Dracut, was arrested for domestic assault and battery, assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, attempted murder and possession of a class E drug.

Saturday, Sept. 14

11:15 p.m. An employee at Jade East at 433 Main Street reported a patron was refusing to pay his bill and yelling at the staff. Responding officers reported prior to their arrival the individual left the restaurant. The employee called back later at 1:23 a.m. to report he could see the individual in question standing in the lobby of Motel Caswell at 450 Main St. The responding officer reported the individual was spoken to and is residing at the Motel. 

Sunday, Sept. 15

6 a.m.- Officers arrested Charles Hynes, of 28 Railroad Square Apt. 8, Nashua, on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. The arrest was made at Motel 6 at 95 Main St.

4:15 p.m.- Officers stopped a motor vehicle at 1223 Shawsheen Street for expired inspection. Emily A Corbett, 94 Perry Street, Lowell, was arrested for driving with a license suspended for OUI, operation of a motor vehicle with expired inspection sticker and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. 

5:58 p.m. Police received multiple reports of a water main break at 123 Whipple Road and 10 Sesame Street. Responding officers confirmed a water main break. Department of Public Works were notified.

6:36 p.m.- Multiple callers reported a domestic disturbance on Kernwood Avenue. All callers reported a male was being dragged from a blue/green vehicle that was being operated by a female. A caller stated the vehicle took a left on Woburn Street toward Lowell. Lowell Police were notified.

10:17 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked in front of 145 Seventh Street. Panagiotis Moraitis, of 5B Natural History Drive in Worcester was arrested on a warrant. 

Monday, Sept. 16

1:02 a.m.- An officer reported he was informed a male was holding a female in room 252 at Motel Caswell at 450 Main Street. Pierre Nguidjoi of 33 Butler Ave., Lowell, was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
