Report: Motel 6 Suspect Wanted For Framingham Shooting

The man apprehended in Tewksbury on Sunday evening is wanted by Framingham Police in connection with a shooting in that town on Aug. 25, according to The Lowell Sun.

The Lowell Sun reports that the man barricaded in a room in Tewksbury on Sunday night and later taken into custody is wanted by Framingham Police in connection with a shooting in that town last weekend.

According to The Sun, Tewksbury Police confirmed that the man taken into custody is Damon Johnson, 24, who Framingham Police allege shot a 29-year-old man in the back of the head just before 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25. 

Framingham Patch reports that after the shooting on Aug. 25, Johnson allegedly took off in a car while armed with a 9mm handgun and when cornered by police, escaped on foot. A but he was not found Saturday night.

The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center but the bullet did not penetrate his skull, Framingham Police said. He was .

On Sunday evening, NEMLEC's official Twitter account tweeted, "Armed barricaded suspect at Motel 6, 95 Main St. Tewksbury surrenders to NEMLEC SWAT at 7:30 pm. Tewksbury Police take custody of suspect."

NEMLEC is the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, a law enforcement consortium of which Tewksbury is a member.
