Stolen Iguana, Drunk Driving At The Drive-Thru

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 15-year-old is facing charges of theft, after he allegedly pilfered a reptile from a local pet store.

An employee of on Route 38 called at around 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25 and reported that about 90 minutes earlier, a teenager had walked out of the store with an iguana. The police report did not indicate why the call came so long after the alleged crime.

Officers responded to the scene and were able to track down the teen nearby. He was charged with larceny and the iguana was returned to the store.

Sunday, Aug. 26, at 12:32 a.m., an employee of , called police to report that a man at the drive-thru window of the restaurant appeared to be intoxicated.

Officers quickly responded to the scene and, after a brief pursuit, pulled over and arrested Ralph L. Conserva Jr., 47, 80 Roper Lane, Tewksbury. Conserva was charged with OUI-liquor, operating a motor vehicle after his license had been suspended for OUI-liquor, failure to stop for police and a marked lanes violation.

Additional Arrests:

Alan Clegg, 24, 72 Heath St., Tewksbury, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 27, by Tewksbury Police on behalf of Chelmsford Police and charged with violation of a restraining order.

Robert Cofer Jr., 46, 51 John E. Smith Drive, Tewksbury, was arrested on Aug. 26 and charged with assault and battery after an allegation that he had struck someone in the back of the head.

Luis Ramos, 44, 161 Concord St., 2nd Floor, Lowell, was arrested on Aug. 25 and charged with OUI-drugs, marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Additional Incidents:

On Monday, Aug. 27, at around 3:30 p.m., a single car accident on Route 38 near the . The vehicle slammed into a utility pole. There were no injuries but traffic was backed up for over a half-mile.

On Sunday, Aug. 26, at 7:30 p.m., a man walked into and reported that someone had stolen his bicycle. He said he is pretty sure he knows who took it. A report was filed.

On Sunday, Aug. 26, a Brown Street resident called police and reported that her daughter had been receiving threatening messages on her cell phone. A report was filed.

On Monday, Aug. 27, at 7:30 a.m., a Beech Street resident called police to report vandalism of his property.
