Tewksbury Brothers Arrested On Child Pornography Charges

Investigation spearheaded by Department of Homeland Security.

Tewksbury brothers are facing felony child pornography charges after being arrested on Dec. 20.

Steven M. Fierimonte, 43, and Robert C. Fierimonte, 50, were arrested by Tewksbury detectives at their residence at 100 Prospect Hill Drive.

Details regarding the case are limited, as the investigation is ongoing, according to Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan.

Sheehan said agents from the Department of Homeland Security arrived at Tewksbury Police Headquarters the morning of Dec. 20 and informed him of an investigation involving the Fierimonte brothers and alleged involvement with child pornography.

Local and federal officers then went to the Prospect Hill Drive home at 12:30 p.m., and both Fierimonte's were arrested by Tewksbury Detectives. Computers, allegedly containing images of child pornography, were seized at the residence.

Robert Fierimonte is charged with possession of child pornography and concealing child pornography. His place of employment is listed as Winchester Hospital.

Steven Fieremonte is charged with using/consuming child pornography. Records indicate Steve Fierimonte works as a professor of mathematics at both Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown and Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner.

Both men were scheduled to be arraigned in Lowell District Court, according to Sheehan.

Can someone explain what "using/consuming" pornography means? I understand using but the consuming is throwing me off a bit.
Bill Gilman (Editor) December 26, 2012 at 05:56 PM
I believe this means acquiring or purchasing. In other words, being a consumer. But that's just a guess.
Mary December 26, 2012 at 06:27 PM
I would guess "using/consuming" means "looking at/purchasing".
marie December 26, 2012 at 10:05 PM
It means these guys looked at pictures. It doesn't say what the pictures were. Were they of 17-year-olds who freely posted their own images? Were they of 4-year-olds being mistreated? Huge difference between the two. An even bigger difference between someone who looks at pictures and someone who mistreats children in order to produce the images. What is the difference between someone who mistreats children and someone who advocates torture or public hanging? Also: I don't know if these men have children of their own but media need to take responsibility for what happens to children of men accused of child porn when their dad's picture is published. When there are children in the middle of this mess, they should be protected. Publishing their address or their dad's photo does not do that.

Marie, You asked " What is the difference between someone who mistreats children and someone who advocates torture or public hanging? Let me ask you, what do you think should happen to miscreants who mistreat children, e.g. rape, physically abuse, sexual or otherwise, force into prostitution, exploit in photo's/video??
Danielle December 26, 2012 at 11:00 PM
Thanks all!

Marie, If the Feds are involved it most likely means actual child porn, not some high school girl whose sexting pic went viral. They go after guys who are send a LOT of child porn back and forth. Federal involvment means the porn was transmitted across state lines. These guys are most likely part of a larger investigation.

Marie its the law duhhhh..you sound like a fool!
Steevo December 27, 2012 at 09:08 AM
Good questions Maria. There is assumption here, I think? These guys were buying and/or selling kiddy porn where the general impression is of little boys and girls in various stages of nudity and sexual acts with other kids or adults, in photos and video. But it should be understood this is an assumption. "What is the difference between someone who mistreats children and someone who advocates torture or public hanging?" The former probably doesn't have the illusion of moral justification.
Adam December 27, 2012 at 12:21 PM
I hope Marie was just saying those things to get people riled up.,, I can't imagine anyone really thinks that. I do think it is important to post the pictures of these 2 dirtbags... If my kid is at the park or at Market Basket, and one of these guys were there... It would be nice to know. I'm surprised no picture has been released yet... Maybe they're cutting a deal to keep their pictures out of the news... In sure if they got money they have lawyered up by now.

How about a word of appreciation for the Homeland Security Team and our Police Chief and his department for keeping "us" safe from these scoundrels. They deserve our respect for working so hard to keep these people out of our community. God Bless and stay safe, we welcome your efforts. Padoyle

Hopefully, there will soon be an opening at Winchester hospital, and Bunker Hill collage.Their employer should be notified..

Disgusting....I know many good people that live on that street that have children.
Mary December 27, 2012 at 04:30 PM
Let's not confuse "Marie" with "Maria". Very different posts.

Marie, really?? You think someone who gets off on looking at kiddie porn is OK, but we should only punish those who produce it?? I hope you aren't trying to protect these perverts. I'm all for "innocent until proven guilty" but where pedophilia is concerned, I'm all for the opposite. There should be a death penalty for people like that Winchester pig who not only tortured those kids, but actually videotaped himself doing it. Who do you think enjoys watching those video's Marie?? Perhaps the Fierimonte's?

Also - Marie, as for your question "What is the difference between someone who mistreats children and someone who advocates torture or public hanging?" Toning down RAPING CHILDREN to "mistreating children"?? You make it sound like these poor victims were simply denied dinner one night. They were RAPED... CHILDREN. What are you not understanding? Further, the difference between someone who RAPES children and someone who advocates public hanging or torture of child RAPISTS is quite huge. I will personally stand and applaud when a child RAPIST is publicly hung. Hell, I'll volunteer to kick the ladder out from under him/her. Personally, hanging isn't enough in my mind. The normal people of the world seek to punish abusers of children... publicly so maybe, just maybe IT WILL STOP THE REST OF THE PERVERTS. I truly hope you don't have any children of your own.

The outrage and discust voiced on this forum is certainly justified; I'm sure we all agree. However the men in this case have been arrested and charged, not convicted.
marie December 27, 2012 at 08:26 PM
You have no idea what images these men had. Guessing and assuming are not the same as knowing. Looking at pictures is not the same as mistreating children and it is a FAR cry from raping children. What these men did was wrong. Just don't confuse what they did--looked at pictures--with what someone else did--made the images. Guys who look at child porn often receive harsher sentences than the slime that hurt children and record the event. I think that is true because it is so easy to catch the ones who look at child porn and it is nearly impossible to catch the guys who produce the stuff. Do we treat men who look at adult porn as if they are likely to rape women or as if they already did rape someone? No, because we understand there is a difference between looking and doing.
Steevo December 27, 2012 at 10:40 PM
Yes you're correct. I meant Marie.
Steevo December 27, 2012 at 11:18 PM
Is that what she said? People getting off looking at kiddie porn are OK? And we should only punish those who produce it? She's making distinction over raw emotion. Do you think looking at a 17 year-old naked is the same as a 4 year-old? I don't. Plenty of people here and other countries don't, who are not perverted nor dangerous. There are countries where a minor according to our law is the age of consent and can marry an adult. Marie is being honest. I don't know who you are but I wonder what feelings you need to control. Would you have to close your eyes if a naked fully developed and beautiful 17 year old is in sight because you would have 'bad' intent? And the question about looking at underage nudity (and worse) versus producing it is one that even law enforcement takes into consideration with regard to seriousness of the crime. I don't want to speak for Marie but I think the point she's making here extends to a lot of behavior. I think someone who gets off looking at kidding porn is perverted. I also think people who get off looking at gore and death are perverted though not with a sexual fascination. I think people enjoying watching terror bombs destroy innocent life are sick and those who enjoy watching Americans being killed are lower than a rabid dog. Do I think they all should be tortured and publicly hanged? No.
Comment December 28, 2012 at 01:23 AM
Are you sure they didn't also make the images? I haven't read that. I read that one of these brothers admitted that there was child pornography on his computer. Either way is still just as wrong. And considering the age of consent, we can ASSUME these images are of children younger than 16. And I strongly disagree - if you get off on looking at child porn, is a shade less tragic than actually performing the act, but no, not a "far cry" from it. It's funny that even the harshest criminals in prison feel the same way. Further - adult porn is consentual. The adult porn with gore and rape, is twisted but still legal if consentual - doesn't mean I don't think it's wrong, but if it's not illegal there's nothing anyone can do about it.
Bob December 28, 2012 at 01:39 AM
Marie, without a market to sell the pictures, most "producers" won't produce the pictures. Too much risk with no reward. Sorry but your view is exactly why we are losing the war on drugs too. Cut the market and cut the production.
Adam December 29, 2012 at 05:27 PM
No mugshots, no updates?? Have these guys been arraigned, charged, or are they even still in custody?! It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they were already back at their Prospect Hill home looking at kiddie pics again... Just sad.
big al December 31, 2012 at 01:26 AM
go to www.lowelsun.com there pictures are up there.
Bill Gilman (Editor) December 31, 2012 at 08:06 PM
For those who asked, the mug shots of the suspects have been added.

Thank Bill, you rock!
marie January 03, 2013 at 06:15 PM
How is that idea working out for the war on drugs? We've incarcerated millions of people for using drugs over the last 40 years and yet there is still a plentiful supply of illegal drugs. So perhaps we need to reconsider the idea that supply and demand work the same in every circumstance. The numbers of men incarcerated for child porn is skyrocketing and yet child porn is still easily and freely available. Maybe the supply and demand of the marketplace is not what is at work here.
Bob January 03, 2013 at 06:40 PM
Marie, The issue is we slap the "user" on the wrist. If you got 10 years for first time use mandatory the market would dry up. Just look at the Patch and the police blog. A few weeks ago a girl got arrested twice in the same day! Slap on the wrist and on their way to do it again and again. We have been trying to go after the supplier of drugs not the user. The user gets a slap. Heck look at Lindsey Lohan slap, rehab (which she fails to show up for half the time) and probation. Crash a car, slap, rehab and probation. Rinse and repeat!

Ever wonder why there is so much sexual misconduct in our society? Just like Big Tobacco, the pornography industry doesn't want the public to know the dangers and effects of their product. You have been told that watching porn is normal, harmless and that everybody does it. You have been lied to. Find out the TRUTH. Then make your choice. http://porntruth.wordpress.com
