Tewksbury Eastern Bank Robbed Tuesday Afternoon

Eastern Bank at 1800 Main Street was robbed Tuesday at around 2:30 p.m., according to Tewksbury Police.

Update 10/2 9:29 p.m.- Tewksbury Police issued a surveillance photo of a suspect in the robbery of the Eastern Bank at 1800 Main Street.

The suspect is further described as a 6 foot tall male, wearing a Boston Red Sox hat with a “B” logo on it, a hoodie type sweat shirt and a white T shirt.

The suspect also had what was described as band aids on his neck, according to police.  

The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.  A K-9 Unit from the Andover Police Department responded to assist with locating the suspect but was unable to.    

If you see this person do not approach him call 911 immediately. 

Original Post- Eastern Bank at 1800 Main Street in Tewksbury was robbed Tuesday at approximately 2:30 p.m., according to Tewksbury Deputy Police Chief John Voto.

The man who robbed the bank was approximately 6 ft. in height, wearing a Boston Red Sox hat, a blue zip up sweatshirt and a white shirt, according to Voto.

The man presented a note with his intent to rob the bank, but showed no weapon in the bank, according to Voto. 

Tewksbury detectives have several promising leads and the investigation is ongoing, according to Voto.
