Tewksbury Looking for Participants in Citizen's Police Academy
The next Tewksbury Citizen Academy kicks off on April 3 and runs until graduation on May 22.
The Tewksbury Police Department is looking for some extra eyes in the community, hosting an upcoming Citizen's Police Academy in an effort to strengthen the department's relationship with its residents.
Tewksbury police officers lead the academy, which teaches residents about what officers do in their respective units, according to a press release by the Tewksbury Police Department.
Students will learn from officers, but the academy is also an opportunity for participants to offer ideas and solutions.
Topics in the eight-week course will include criminal law, criminal investigations, domestic violence, motor vehicle law, identity theft, Internet safety, and more.
The next Tewksbury Citizen's Academy kicks off on April 3 and runs through May 22 inside Tewksbury Police Department.
Classes take place from 7-9 p.m. every Thursday night with an optional course on May 29 from 5:30-9 p.m. called "Refuse to be a Victim."
