Tewksbury Memorial Day Parade Detour Information

The parade will kick off at 2 p.m., and several roads around town will be closed to accomodate the parade route.


The following information was provided by the Tewksbury Police Department:

The Memorial Parade will be held on Monday, May 27th, 2013 starting at the Ryan School and ending at Brooks Plaza (next to Mac’s Dairy Farm).

All side streets that enter onto Main Street will be closed from approximately 12:45- 5PM. The detour for Main Street (northbound) heading towards Lowell from Wilmington line will be: Livingston Street to East Street to Main Street.

The detour from Main Street (southbound) heading towards Wilmington from Lowell line will be Marshall Street to Whipple Road to Shawsheen Street to Main Street. 

Pleasant Street will be closed in both directions from 12PM to 5PM for the parade marchers to line up.

post states roads are closed from 12:30 to 5 pm??? what else will be going on? Where is best place to be for the parade? New to area............

Here's what I do. Come up Chandler st. It intersects with main street from the south and is to the left center of the parade route. About 2/5 mile before main is a school. I forget what the school is called. Plenty of parking there, as long as you don't mind the 2/5 mile walk. Once you hit main st, you have plenty of places from which to watch. I hope that helps.

Another option is to park at the North St. School on North St. and walk down to the corner of North and Main by Skewers Wood Grill. That would be more at the beginning of the parade.....plenty of viewing area on both sides of Main St. Enjoy!

We are at the End of the parade...by John Ryans...i like it down there, cause we can keep the car close! And run into 'Ryans for some appitizers after!

thank you for the responses.. WE need to keep the walk to a Minimal as will have a couple seniors with us.. IS there more going on to see or do today??? Thank you
