Tewksbury Police Arrest Wilmington Man for Third OUI

Wilmington's Dennis Cannon is facing his third charge for operating under the influence, the Lowell Sun reports.

Tewksbury Police recently arrested a Wilmington man for allegedly operating under the influence for a third time despite having an interlock device installed following the previous two convictions, according to a report in the Lowell Sun.

The Sun reported that Dennis R. Cannon, 58, allegedly registered more than twice the legal limit when he blew a .19 on a breathalyzer test after he was stopped in Tewksbury on June 30.

Also according to the newspaper, the arresting officer detected a strong odor of alcohol from Cannon and noticed the Wilmington resident was unsteady on his feet when he exited the vehicle.

Court records indicated that Cannon was arrested for operating under the influence in 2010 and 1973 according to The Sun, which reported that Cannon said there was was no interlock device in his vehicle when the officer asked about the device.
