Traffic Stop Leads To Three Arrests On Multiple Drug Charges
The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
What started out as a routine traffic stop near Applebee's ended with the arrest of two men and a woman on multiple drug and motor vehicle charges.
A Tewksbury Police officer pulled over the suspect's vehicle, an SUV, just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, due to revoked insurance. The vehicle was driven by Leonardo F. Aponte Jr., 26, of 648 Boston Road, Billerica.
A computer check of Aponte found that both his license and registration had also been revoked. He was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a license that had been revoked as a Habitual Traffic Offender, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

The night didn't go any better for Aponte's passengers, Charles E. Fox, 36, of 49 2nd St. Apt. 2, Lowell and Renee M. Aponte, 25, 30 Donald Road, Burlington.
A subsequent investigation led to both of them being arrested. Renee Aponte was charged with Possession of a Class A Drug, Possession of a Class B Drug, and Possession of a Class E Drug.

Fox was charged with Possession Of a Class A Drug with intent to distribute, Possession Of a Class B Drug with intent to distribute and Possession Of a Class E Drug with intent to distribute.
Additional Arrests:
Gia D. Amato, 22, 749 North St., was arrested on Friday, Jan. 18, on a warrant.
Shekina Bishop-Sullivan, 24, 1417 Ames Hill Drive, Tewksbury, was arrested on Jan. 18 on a warrant.
Additional Incidents:
A woman called police at 2:44 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18 to report that she had been washing her car in a bay at Haffner's when a man cut through her bay on foot. She said it really disturbed her. But she didn't want to leave her name and hung up. A short time later, the man in question called police to report that yes, in fact, he had cut through the bay but only to get to a change machine on the other side. The man also reported that the woman had turned the hose on him. He wanted that logged.
A Concrete Road resident called police on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 6:09 a.m. and reported that his car had been struck by a town plow some time overnight.
On Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 4:20 p.m., a car fire was reported in a driveway on Marshall Street.
