Two Arrested on Drug Charges in Separate Incidents

The following is an excerpt from the Tewksbury Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

On Sunday, Feb. 2, at 3:44 p.m. loss prevention at Wal-Mart reported two shoplifters leaving the store. The caller reported that it was a man and women, and when the employee tried to detain them they took off and attempted to take the front license plate off the car before they drove away.

Officers located and arrested Erica L. Cavanaugh, 38, of 5 Arthur Street, Lowell, and charged her with shoplifting greater than $100 by concealing and subsequent offense of possession of Class A drugs.

Also on Sunday, Feb. 2, at 2:19 a.m. police stopped a car for speeding and marked lanes violation. Two men were taken into protective custody.

In addition, officers arrested Michelle A. White, 35, of 95 Glen Road, Wilmington, and charged her with possession of Class B drugs.

Additional Incidents

Sunday, Feb. 2

  • At 12:20 p.m. a Greenwood Ave. resident reported a suspicious man walking down the street. Police checked the area and found that the man was talking on his phone.
  • At 1:34 p.m. a Maplewood Street caller reported a man stumbling down the street. Cars responded and spoke to the caller, who saw the man go into his home. Officers spoke to the suspicious man, who said he was staying in the home for the remainder of the night.
  • At 3:10 p.m. a patient at State Hospital reported that she is being followed by officers and that they are vampires trying to cut her hair. Campus Police was notified, and they are familiar with the patient and took care of the situation.
