Tewksbury Police are searching for a man who attempted to rob the Shell Gas Station at 365 Main St., Thursday afternoon (Feb. 7).
According to the police report, the call came in around 1:20 p.m. The caller said they had been assaulted while the suspect tried to rob the store and then fled the scene. Six units plus a K-9 officer responded to the scene.
A license plate number to the car the suspect fled in was provided to police and a BOLO was sent out. The caller declined treatment for their injuries.
Sex offender arrested
arrested a homeless man on Feb. 6 on charges that he was a sex offender who had failed to properly register.
According to the police report, an officer was out at the , following up on a previous incident.
While there, the officer arrested Joshua Thomas, 30, who provided no current address. The reasons why Thomas had to register as a sex offender were not immediately made available.
Parent claims child was assaulted on bus
Police received a call from a Debra Drive resident at approximately 9 p.m. on Feb. 7. The caller reported that their 10-year-old son was assaulted while on his school bus and had visible facial injuries. Officers responded to the scene and a report was filed.
Michael A. Maksou, 38, 961 Broadway, Everett, was arrested on Feb. 7 on an outstanding warrant.
On Wednesday, Feb. 8, police received two reports from residents on Jennies Way of men who approached homes and knocked on the door, claiming to be from Verizon. One call came in at 5:33 p.m. and the other at roughly 7:30 p.m. According to police, no one from Verizon had registered with them to solicit that night. In each instance, officers responded to the scene but were unable to locate the men.
Police, fire and rescue crews responded to a small fire at 121 Trull Road on Thursday, Feb. 9 just before 3 p.m. The fire was extinguished quickly.
On Feb. 7, just after 1:30 p.m., a Chandler Street resident called police to report that her home had been broken into. Several units responded, along with a Billerica K-9 unit. However, the suspect could not be located.
