Waltham Couple Held on Bail After Alleged Burglary, Escape

Jonathan and Amanda Miller will return to court on Sept. 13.

A Waltham couple charged with on Aug. 20 was arraigned in in Lowell District Court and ordered held on bail.

Judge Elizabeth Cremens ordered Jonathan Miller, 29, held on $5,000 cash bail and his wife, Amanda Miller, 22, held on $500 cash bail, according to the Lowell Sun.

Jonathan Miller is being charged with resisting arrest, breaking and entering in the daytime with the intent to commit a misdemeanor, breaking and entering in the daytime with the intent to commit a felony, larceny over $250, possession of burglary tools and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Amanda Miller is charged with breaking and entering in the daytime with the intent to commit a felony, larceny over $250 and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Cremens, during the court hearing, also revoked Jonathan Miller's bail on a seperate case in Lawrence District Court involving a charge of being present where heroin in kept, according to the Sun. Amanda Miller also has a seperate case with the same charge, the Sun wrote.

According to the Sun report, the Jonathan Miller served in Iraq from 2006 to 2007. He was later discharged after being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and a ruptured disc, according to the Sun. He is also addicted to painkillers, the paper reported.

Amanda Miller's defense attorney said she played a limited role in the incident, according to the Sun. Amanda Miller is a veteran of the U.S. Army who received a medical discharge for a foot injury, according to the Sun.

The couple is due back in court on Sept. 13 for a pre-trial hearing.
