Neighborhood Flooded, Police Seek Driver After Accident [VIDEO]

Residents in one Tewksbury neighborhood got a bit soggy on Thursday (Dec. 29) after a water main ruptured.

Several homes on Memorial Drive were without water for several hours following the break, which took place some time after 2 p.m. crews were on the scene quickly and worked feverishly to repair the damaged and restore water flow.

Much of Memorial Drive and several front yards were flooded. Resident Kelly Joyce submitted the attached video footage of the flooding in front of her home.

Police seek driver following accident (Dec. 29)

received a request for help from their Wilmington counterparts on Thursday, following an accident in that community. The WPD was trying to track down the owner of a vehicle that was found abandoned at 80 Glen Road.

There was blood on the passenger side of the windshield and tools with the name of the registered owner (who lives on Shawsheen Street, Tewksbury) were found nearby.

In addition, the WPD found damage to a guardrail on an I-93 off-ramp that matched damage to the vehicle. As of Thursday afternoon, the owner had not been located.

Arrests:

  • Vaughn Roussell, 56, 1354 Gorham St., Lowell, was arrested on Dec. 29, on a warrant.
  • Christopher Miller, 45, 277 Gibson St. Lowell, was arrested on Dec. 28 on a warrant and was also charged with shoplifting over $100.
  • Laura Aliferis, 24, 100 First St. Apt. 2, Lynn, was arrested on Dec. 28 on a warrant and was also charged with shoplifting.
  • Marissa Santos, 23, 9 Johnson St., Bedford, NH, was arrested on Dec. 28 and was charged with shoplifting over $100.
