Wilmington Driver Arrested for OUI, Negligent Operation
The following is an excerpt from the Tewksbury Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Arrests
At 2:05 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle on Whipple Road. The initial officer called for back up and took one Billerica woman into protective custody. In addition, police arrested Steven M. Powers, 29, of 159 Burlington Ave., North Wilmington, and charged him with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, speeding in violation of special registration and registration not in possession.
At 6:07 a.m. police arrived at Motel 6 to serve a warrant. Derek S. Carr, 36, of 50 Stackhouse Street Apt. 114, Lowell, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for assault and battery.

- At 9:45 a.m. dispatch received a 911 call from Chandler Street for a man who fell in the parking lot and hit his head. The man was transported to Saints Medical Center.
- At 11:51 a.m. Shirley Police reported that a woman on Shawsheen Street in Tewksbury Facebook messaged her friend stating that she “was done and was going to pop a bunch of pills.” An officer and ambulance were dispatched to the scene and transported on person to the hospital.
- At 1:05 p.m. a 911 call came in to dispatch from CVS where a man passed out at the pharmacy station.
