Tuesday, May 27

At 9:37 p.m. Lowell Police requested assistance in locating a vehicle with a Hispanic male driver for carjacking a person by knife and possibly staying at one of the hotels. Police checked each of the town’s hotels but could not find the person.

Wednesday, May 28

  • At 5:13 a.m. a 911 caller reported an argument at Livingston Street near Main Street between the clerk and a customer. An employee reported that the customer asked him for a cigarette and when he wouldn’t give him one, the customer got very upset and wouldn’t leave until he called 911. Officers spoke to both people and the man left the store.
  • At 12:18 p.m. officers were called to Staples for two people who attempted to return merchandise without a receipt.

  • At 5:26 p.m. a 911 caller from the Ryan School on Pleasant Street reported an erratic operator crossing the yellow lines and the fog lines. An officer was sent the scene and requested back up. Patricia Ostertag, 50, of 31 Babicz Road, Tewksbury, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, child endangerment while operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.
