Friends of the Elderly To Host Giant Yard Sale

Plenty of events going on this fall at the Tewksbury Senior Center.

A note of thanks is extended to all those Seniors who volunteered at the Friends Breakfast Benefit this past Sunday; and, to all those who patronized the event. The next breakfast event will be held on November 4th. The winner of the drawing was Mrs. Clover Wilson.

Those people attending the 3 Swingin' Tenors event this Saturday, September 22nd are reminded that dinner will be served at 6:00 PM. The show will be held after dinner.

DJ Jon Mansfield will be at the Senior Center next Monday, September 24th, for an afternoon dance. Those obtaining their DJ Jon tickets by noon this Thursday will have lunch included prior to the dance.

Representative Jim Miceli will hold an office hour at the Senior Center next Wednesday, September 26th from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.

A Friends Giant Yard Sale will be held at the Senior Center, 175 Chandler Street, on Saturday, September 29th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM rain or shine. Table space is still available for this even at $15 per table or $25 for two tables spaces. To reserve a table or obtain further information on may call the Senior Center at 978-640-4480. The yard sale will also include a yummy bake table and luncheon specials. The Upscale Consignment Shop and Snooti Patooti Gift Shop will also be open during the yard sale.

The Upscale Consignment shop will hold its “Intake of Items” day on Monday, October 1st from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Fall clothes are now being accepted.

Tickets are still available for the Foxwood day trip of October 9th. The price per person is $21.

Those Senior Citizens who are MEMA Volunteers are reminded that there will be a MEMA annual training at the Senior Center on Friday, October 12th at 9:30 AM in the conference room. We ask that you please confirm that you will be in attendance.

Our Swinging Senior Chorus participants are reminded that rehearsals have resumed on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. All are welcome to join this group.

We are hoping to have information on a couple of October day trips in next weeks news.

  • Friday October 19th - the Silvertones Dance - $10
  • Sunday, October 21st – the Edwards Twins Luncheon and Matinee Show - $55
  • Wednesday, October 24th – the Red Hat Halloween Party & Show - $15
  • Friday, October 26th – the Friends Halloween Dance & Costume Contest with music by Boots & Company - $10
