Plan to adjust your travel routes accordingly, as this project will limit traffic to a large section of East Street.

(Editor's note: the following information was submitted by Carlos Jaquez, Project Manager, Department of Public Works.)

East Street water main replacement work will begin on or about Monday, September 24, 2012.

The Town has hired JJ Phelan to perform this work. Construction hours will be from 7:00 AM to approximately 7:00 PM Monday through Friday except holidays.

The crews will attempt to shut down earlier when possible. This section of East Street, between Shawsheen Street and Maple Street, will be open to one lane of alternating traffic at the location of the construction crews.

Due to the size of the construction equipment and the nature of this work you may experience traffic delays.  The contractor will make every attempt to keep the delays to a minimum. Please note due to the nature of this work there could be unexpected water breaks. The construction crews will make every effort to get the water back immediately.
