It is really aggravating that the Patch posts PDFs all the time that cannot be downloaded, only printed. Make the file available directly so that people can print at a later time.

Tara, that is a great suggestion. We don't have that capability on the site right now but I'd be more than glad to pass it along to the powers that be. Terrific idea.

Are copies available at Town Hall? They missed including a new calendar with the Tax Bill which is how it was usually done.

Karyn, I went by Town Hall several weeks ago looking for the schedule and I was told there was a delay in printing them as they had not decided on a waste-appliances, etc company. That is why they didn't get mailed with the tax bill as usual. :)

Thanks, Bill, for posting this information. I have been wondering where the new info sheets were. Now I have the information I need. Thanks again.

I have SOO much recycle why can't we pickup every week?
Karyn July 09, 2012 at 10:50 PM
FYI.....Stopped in at Town Hall today and they now have them in the lobby on a table straight ahead as you walk in the front door.

Because the town is too cheap and greedy. We should also be allowed an additional "FREE" barrel but we have to pay above and beyond our already too high tax rate for an additional one. You would think that by now we should all be getting a reduction in our taxes for having a "Cheaper for the Town" trash program but that will never happen just like the cheaper water & sewer rates with everyone tying in.

The pdf file is available on the town website and the Recycling Committee's website. Tom - regarding weekly recycling, it is one of the most common questions we receive. The quick answer is that, under our current contract, it costs more to add the additional week of pickup than what we would save through increased recycling (see more details under our FAQs at the website). That being said, the next collection contract (which would begin next July) is being negotiated right now and weekly recycling pickup is under discussion once again.

I still do not know how the type of dwelling you have, rather than family size determined the size of trash receptacle you received. As a family of four the 'small' trash can is simply not enough and therefore I am constantly looking for creative ways to get of all my extra trash.
