Tewksbury celebrates its heroes, past and present.

Several hundred residents turned out Friday as Tewksbury celebrated its heroes with the annual Veterans Day Services.

served as emcee for the event, which featured speeches by several community leaders. The keynote address was offered by Army Major Stephen Flanagan, a Tewksbury native.

Flanagan is a highly decorated veteran, having earned, among other honors, two Bronze Stars during three combat tours in Iraq and another in Afghanistan.

Another notable speech was made by student Barrett Hodgson, who presented an essay on "What The Pledge of Allegiance Means To Me."
