Senior Center Expands Its Hours Of Operation

Several trips for seniors are planned for the coming weeks.

is now open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Hot lunches will be served each weekday. Seniors are reminded that lunch reservations must be made two days in advance. A $2 donation is suggested. For more information on the hot lunch program one may call Shirley Lambert, Site Coordinator, at 978-851-5121. Menus are available at the Senior Center front desk and from the kitchen crew.

Tickets for the Foxwood day trip of August 9th will go on sale next Monday, July16th at 8:15 AM.

Departure time for next Monday, July 16th, Hyannis Harbor Cruise day trip is 8:00 AM. The agenda for the day is a stop off at the Hyannis Christmas Tree Shop followed by lunch and then a harbor cruise.

The MS Support Group will meet next Monday, July 16th, in the conference room at 10:00 AM. All are welcome to join in this group.

Those who participate in the Wednesday afternoon Gentle Yoga class are reminded that class will not be held on July 25th.

An activities meeting has been scheduled for next Tuesday, July 17th at 3:00 PM. The agenda will include the up-coming yard. All are welcome to attend this meeting.

A Senior Center Giant Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, July 21st from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The public is welcome. To inquire whether or not there are any table spaces available, one may call the Center at 978-640-4480. A single table space is $15 and a double table space is $25. This event is held rain or shine.

 Tickets are available at the Senior Center for the following day trips:

  • Wednesday, July 18th - Hampton Beach $14: Back by popular demand, this trip will be an afternoon and evening on your own to browse the boardwalk, grab something to each and listen to the Continentals Concert at the shell. Departure is 3:00 PM and arrival home is around 10:45 PM.
  • Friday, July 27th – Bristol, RI at $51. This trip includes a buffet luncheon, an hour guided tour of Bristol and a guided tour of Linden Place, Bristol's “Great House” where generations of seafaring DeWolfs, Colts and Barrymore's entertained presidents and politicos.
  • Wednesday, August 15th – Boston Duck Tour and the Prudential Building $59. This trip includes the famous Boston Duck Tour, a voucher for lunch at the Prudential Food Court, admission to the Prudential Skywalk Observation and a group photo.
  • Tuesday, August 28th – Fast Ferry to Provincetown (upon request) $85. Departure time is early at 7:15 AM. Travel the Fast Ferry and arrive in P-Town at 10:00 AM for a day on your own with a five hour stay. Departure for home from P-Town is promptly at 3:00 PM.

DJ Jon Mansfield will be at the Senior Center on Monday, July 30th for an afternoon dance. Tickets are $6 per person. Those purchasing tickets by July 25th will have lunch included.

Yuen Li, the Senior Center SHINE Counselor, will resume appointments next Monday, July 16th. Ms. Li advises people on Medicare and supplemental coverages. One may call the Senior Center 978-640-4480 to arrange an appointment.
