Senior Citizens Have Numerous Trips Planned

Town to plant a rain garden outside the Senior Center.

The Town will be planting a “rain garden” at the Senior Center this Friday, May 27th.  Anyone wishing to help in this planting project should be at the Senior Center at 9:30 AM.

 Those people helping with the Senior Citizen’s Parade Float should note that float decorating will take place on Friday, May 27th at Dennis Sheehan’s garage at 9:00 AM.  One may pick-up his/her shirts on Thursday, May 26th.

ACTORS, inc. will be present “THE PORCH” at a dinner theatre on June 3rd and 4th at 6:00 PM as well as a matinee on June 4th at 12:00 Noon.  These productions shall take place at UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center, 50 Warren Street, Lowell.  Native born and internationally known playwright, Jack Neary, is directing the play which is said to have the audience laughing throughout the afternoon especially since it takes place in Lowell.  Those interested in reserving tickets which are $45 may call 978-984-3151.

 The next Senior Center Breakfast Benefit will be held on Sunday, June 5th from 7:30 to 11:00 AM.

This will be the last breakfast before the crew breaks for summer months.  Adult tickets are $6, children 12 and under $3 and toddlers are free.  The menu includes: pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, homefries, beans, toast and beverages.  The public is welcome.

 The Upscale Consignment Boutique will hold its monthly “Intake of Items” day on Monday, June3 6th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.

There are still a few tickets left for the Foxwood day trip of Wednesday, June 8th.  The trip cost is $21 per person and includes motor coach transpiration and a casino package.

The Friends shall hold its next monthly dance on June 10th from 7-10 PM.  Music for the evening will be by the Entertainer’s Band.  Tickets may be purchased ahead or at the door at $10.

Tickets are also available for a trip to the Old Country Buffet and Vanity Fair.  The cost of this trip will be $32 and includes mini coach transportation and lunch.  This trip will be held on June 15th. 

The Silver Tones next dance will be held on Friday, June 17th from 7-10 p.m.

 The Seniors will hold a Giant Indoor Yard Sale at the Senior Center, 175 Chandler Street on Saturday, June 25th from 9 AM to 2 PM.  Table space may be reserved at $15 per table or $25 for two tables.  One may now register at the Senior Center.  The public is welcome to participate in this event.  DJ Jon Mansfield will be back to the Senior Center on Monday, June 27th for an afternoon of dancing. The ticket cost is $6 and includes lunch.  Those planning to have lunch must obtain a ticket by June 22nd.

A trip to Hampton Beach has been planned for Tuesday, June 28th.  The cost will be $13 and will be a day on one’s own.  The annual sand sculpture display will be held during this time.

On Wednesday, June 29th, the Carnation Belles shall celebrate a whole year of holidays in one night.  The cost of this event will be $5.  Check the bulletin board for more details on this fun evening.

Belles should note that tickets MUST be purchased by June 15th.
