UPDATED: State Champs Honored at the State House

Tewksbury High hockey team pays a visit to Beacon Hill.

On Monday, The ­– was invited by legislators to spend the day at the State House.

Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray was in attendance to demonstrate his support and appreciation for the team’s efforts and victory. , and , and , were there to greet the team with their sincerest congratulations via an award ceremony in the House Chamber.

“I congratulate the team, the coaches and the administration at Tewksbury High School for this tremendous victory, they should be proud of their team efforts and the hard work that they demonstrated in winning this title. I encourage this team to never forget where they come from as they continue on to find their own unique ways of giving back to their community - just as their coaches and school faculty have. I hope to see everyone back at The State House again next year after a repeat victory!”” said Adams.

“It was great to celebrate the team’s win with them today,” said Finegold . “Being the best in the state in their division is really quite an accomplishment, so I’m glad I could be there to congratulate the coaches and players. Teamwork and dedication got them here and all of Tewksbury should be proud of this team.”

Tewksbury Superintendent of Schools Dr. John O'Connor and committee members Jayne Miller and Dennis Francis accompanied the team to greet the delegation and lieutenant governor.
