Voter Registration Deadline is Friday for Special Town Meeting

Annual Town Meeting and Special Town Meeting are still several weeks away, but Tewksbury residents looking to vote this year must be registered by next week.

The deadline to register for Special Town Meeting is this Friday, April 25, and in order to assist residents the Town Clerk will hold a special voter registration session that day.

Annual Town Meeting voters must have already registered to vote by the middle of March.

On Friday the session will take place at the Pike House from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. In addition, residents can also register at the Town Clerk's office Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Special Town Meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 7. Articles include moving surplus, snow and ice funds, purchase of two fire engines, funding the Town Clerk position, and removing the Town Clerk position as an elected role.

Annual Town Meeting, meanwhile, is scheduled for Monday, May 5. Both meetings will take place at Tewksbury Memorial High School.
