Tewksbury Ranked State's Third Best Sellers' Market
Zillow recently released its top seller's and buyer's market in the state, based on how long homes are on the market in towns.
Tewksbury residents looking to sell their home won't have to wait long, according to one recently released real estate ranking.
Zillow recently ranked the top five buyers' and sellers' markets, and Tewksbury cracked the top five, according to WCVB, which released Zillow's rankings in their entirety.
The sellers' market is based on a real estate market where homes are on the market for a shorter time, according to Zillow, and doesn't necessarily reflect home values in that area.
Using that criteria, Tewksbury ranked at number three on the sellers' market list, ahead of Newton and Framingham but behind Boston and Cambridge.
Overall, the Boston metro area is a good place for sellers. According to the list, it is 16th out of 35 metro areas ranked nationwide.
For the buyers' market, the rankings are done based on homes that may stay on the market longer, but that include more price drops and the final sale is often for lower than the original asking price.
Plymouth was ranked as the top buyers' market, followed by Lowell, Hingham, Marlborough and Quincy.
