Points of the Compass

Points of the Compass and the Bible.

POINTS OF THE COMPASS:

Hello Everyone:

At some time in our lifetime, we have all used a compass for one reason or another. For those of us who were Boy Scouts at one time, we can remember having to go into the woods and use a compass and a map to locate a specific location and learn to navigate in or out of a wooded area. It is also a good thing to be able to read a map; whether in the woods or driving down one of our nation’s highways.

If we take a close look at a compass, we see that it is broken down into 32 Points of the Compass, and we can break it down even further to 360 degrees.

Whether you are hiking in the woods, flying in a aircraft or sailing on the sea, a compass can and will be a life saver if you want to arrive safely at your final destination.

When we look into God’s Word, we find many verses that speak about the points of a compass….let me share several with you.

In the Book of Genesis, we read about Jacob and how through him, God was going to  bless the Nation of Israel

Gen 28:13-14 KJV

(13)  And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

(14)  And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

In the Book of Exodus, we read about Moses dividing the waters of the Red Sea…

Exo 14:21 KJV

 (21)  And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

We also read in the Gospel of Luke about the return of Jesus Christ, who will gather all those who love Him from all corners of the world

Luk 13:29 KJV

(29)  And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

There are many other scriptures that we could talk about….but I believe that the greatest verse is the one that describes how far Jesus will remove our Sins from us if we ask Him.

Psa 103:12 KJV

(12)  As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

IF YOU WENT TO THE EQUATOR AND STARTED TO WALK TO THE EAST; YOU WOULD NEVER GET TO THE WEST.

THAT IS WHAT THIS SCRIPTURE MEANS….IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CALCULATE HOW FAR GOD WILL REMOVE OUR SINS IF WE COME TO HIM AND ASK HIM TO DO SO.

1Jn 1:9 KJV

(9)  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Rom 10:13 KJV

(13)  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Call upon His Name today and receive pardon from your sins…
